Tip 3 - Seven Tips for Effective Presentations

This month Tips focus on Effective Presentations! Confident Public Speaking is a very important skill to have so make sure you add it to your "essential skills" list. Look out for the hidden discount code below.

  1. Know your material – when you are comfortable with the subject matter then you can concentrate on the actual delivery of your material.
  2. Know your audience – the more you know about your audience the better you can prepare your presentation to assure that you meet their needs.
  3. Know the room – become comfortable with the space that you will be using in your presentation.
  4. Relax by taking some deep breaths – this helps to release tension in your muscles and helps ensure the ‘butterflies fly in formation’.
  5. Visualise yourself giving your presentation – when you visualise a successful outcome your confidence increases.
  6. Realise that your audience wants you to succeed – your audience wants you to be interesting, stimulating, informative and entertaining. They want to be able to take away something from your presentation that they can put into practice themselves.
  7. Practise! Practise! Practise! - Rehearse out loud with any equipment you plan to use and revise as necessary.

Above all, enjoy the experience!
